      #3404554 - 10/22/09 04:29 PM

hey folks

I guess well! here is the veil nebula 34 frames ! 1 hours and 8 mintues

http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=myiieimzenz&thumb=6

here is the pacman cropped 50% 3 hours and 18 minutes!

104 frames

http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=nm4llbzt5mn&thumb=6

Light pollution is horrible! But I can conquer it!! all shots taken at ISO 400 2 mins per frame maximum exposure per frame every night!

I guess this means I get to focus on one target perday!!!:(( I will try to add another 5 hours for the veil and another 5 hours for the pacman nebula!

Those are good shots Max and you went after some tough targets , looks like you are definitely fighting the light pollution in your processing.

You really need a light pollution filter of some sort , it should make your processing much easier.

Feel free to post the unprocessed stack and well see if we can help with processing , maybe give you some tips and tricks.

Max, I think you are on the right track now! I totally agree with Erik on the LP filter, you NEED one..

Where is the peak on your cameras histogram at ISO400/2 minutes?

hey folks

I use an LP filter.. CLS-CCD front filter. For my ISO 400/ 2min The peak is between 20 % and 40 % in the middle. I can't go higher though..due to the light pollution killer!

My current steps after Stacking:
Photoshop:
1)2 non linear curves + 1 last constrast S curve
2) level adujster
3)saturation
4)then I use noel carboni's tools
noise reduction + vertical banding +lighten deepskyobject.
5)flatten the background
6)gradient tricky but have not found a solid way to remove it:(

when I try to bring more detail...the edges start to brighten.

I have taken: 30 flats,30 Darks,30 offsets! the image included here is without the removal of hotpixels!forgot to uncheck the automatic pixel removal in DSS
