I've been stargazing with my Celestron Ultimas for some time now, but just finally bought a tripod. Amazing the difference! (I know, that shouldn't be news to anyone) I'd always been able to spot moons of Jupiter, but this really clarified the view. One that I never had been able to clearly see was Albireo -- but with the tripod the separation between the two was obvious (although the color of the small one was still hard for me to pick out). I could find lots of small globs and a few of the galaxies that I looked for. Still, my favorite is probably just panning over the milky way.
Quite a benefit for $35. I picked up the Targus 66" scope at Target, and found it very adequate for my small (by astronomy standards) binocs.

Hello Dan, how did you attach the Celestron to the tripods head. Could you show it if possible. Thanks

About $8.00 will buy you a binocular tripod adapter at most any camera store. I think that any mid or high grade binocular will have the hole that you use to screw it on, and probably most cheap ones as well. I have basically tied them on to a tripod with the neck strap in the past as well. I can definitely say that the $8.00 is worth it :-)
