Hi friends,
I guess, like most of you, I'm a big friend of Robert Provin's and Galakumas homepages with old catalogs.
But I really wonder, why we haven't got an TOWA catalog online till now !?
Specially because of so many of us know or own the famous Towa 339 refractor !!
Nobody willing to share his(her Towa catalog with us ?
Kind regards, Michael

There must have been a reseller's catalog at least - that would be something to see!

The lack of documentation for many older scopes has been a big disappointment to me.
In true collector circles, a reservoir of ready documentation is the first and the top priority of the collective whole.
It is the basis for determination of rarity, originality and the setting of pricing of the items of interest.

From I have read on the internet and at this site in particular, http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/Meade-Instruments-Corporation-Company-History.html the original Mead telescopes in their 1972, and first catalog-I showed it to John Diebel and he verified it, were from Towa. It appears that the first Meade catalog is the closest that I know of for viewing the older Towa refractors. I can send someone some scans if they wish.

Towa had brand name "TOWA" only for export. In Japan,He was specialized in OEM,I think that there was not the catalogue for amateurs. I asked friends a catalogue of Towa in Japan. I found a friends he have the copy of it. I follow next To be continued.
