The Milky Way looks a little colder in autumn.

Hi all,

Here is the Milky Way in Autumn with 21mm lens.



full size 19MB, 5629 x 3737 pixels:

Equipment was EOS 5D mark 2 sp2 by Seo san, an infra-red cut-off filter modified DSLR
and Zeiss Distagon 21mmF2.8 at F5.6 on Takahashi EM-200 temma 2 Jr. equatorial mount,
autoguided with hiro-design off-axis guider, Starlight Xpress Lodestar, and PHD guiding.

Exposure was 11 times x 15 minutes, 6 x 8 min, 6 x 4 min, 6 x 2 min, and 6 x 1 minute at ISO 6,400
at 11,000 feet above sea level near MLO, Mauna Loa Observatory in the Big Island, Hawaii.

Wonderful shot Hiro. The dust structure is especially pretty to me.

I spent a few minutes in Cartes du Ciel to identify stars, there's so many visible it took a minute to get oriented! Though now that I look at the smaller picture it's easier to do, Pegasus stands out in this post where it's harder for me to see in the larger image.

Thanks a lot Mark,

I intended to see dark nebula lanes from Cepheus toward Polaris in this frame, though stars floated and drifted near the upper edge and the right edge in the frame due to atmospheric refraction.
