Well, I was showing my wife the plan for the new telescope and decided to show her the set up that I REALLY wanted. She asked what the big difference was since it looked the same as the original scope. To my surprise, she said "If you can find a deal on it, get it"...

Needless to say I was able to find that deal so here's what I've got coming the first week of November:
Celestron CGEM 800 SCT AC/DC power supply Celestron f6.3 focal reducer Canon Eos t ring T adapter RS232 cable
The next part of the setup will be a little later unless I can find a decent deal. That will be a 80mm refractor and side-by-side mount.

Thank you!
I'm a bit miffed right now though... Got an email from the place and according to them it's on back order Guess this gives me more time to read the user's guide and gather some of the other item's I need.

Oh, she's pretty alright!
I had a chance to get it outside in time to start cooling off. Took some time to go over the different setting and functions of the mount. Boy do I have a lot to learn! I also set up Stellarium to talk to it which is really cool.
Anyways, got it set up and did a very rough alignment. Since I wasn't going to be outside for a long period I set it up on my deck which has a very small view of the sky. I clicked on the moon in Stellarium and told it to slew to it. After it finished moving the moon was almost perfectly centered! What a great view even though it was so blinding!!!
I'm more than satisfied with what I've seen so far with the scope and mount. Hopefully the weather will hold up this weekend and I can try to get some shots of the moon. I'll have to wait till next week before the moon stops washing out the sky.
Now if I can sneak a small refractor on there before the wife notices...

FYI, just got off the phone with telescopes.com. They're now selling the CGEM800 for $1,799. I had purchased it when it was $2099 + 10% coupon bringing the price to $1,889. They ended up crediting me for the difference.
But if you place a new order for one and use the 10% coupon it would be even cheaper!
