Howdy all,
I am looking to add another Nikon lens to my DSLR kit, but wanted to also use it with my STL-11000 for astro-imaging. I'm looking at a standard 50mm prime. Anybody use a Nikor 50mm f/1.2 ? Just wondering how it compares to the cheaper alternatives (in terms of coma, etc.) and if it is worth the extra $$. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

John, while it is easier for you with a Canon and also a Nikon, I had to resort to a little tinkering to effect what you were after. I have a Sony DSLR, love it and also an SX camera with the CFW. The SX/CFW soaked up more back focus than I could allow and as a result I have opted for the Pentax 6x7 lenses. With a e bay adaptor to fit 6x7 to Sony they slip nicely onto the DSLR. For the SX/CFW use I simply carefully unscrew (4 minute screws) the Sony bayonet and have installed a male T thread. This hooks the SX into place and away we go. Have had poor skies so far so apart from a quick DSLR trial it hasn't been proven yet. The 6x7 route, as with most medium format systems has gobs of back focus, thus making the adaption easier. Gary
