Got this one last week after a long wait. It's such a nice (and still quite rare) instrument, so I thought to post a picture of it here also. A bit better quality picture can be found in my Flickr page.

Lets see if this works...attaching a pic that is.
I have a Super C8+ with the Byers drive. Great scope. Images 1 thru 4 show: 1) Visual use; 2) Visual but using my iPhone running GoSkyWatch as a poor man push-to scope (a closeup in the insert); 3) Piggyback photography with 18-55mm lens; 4) Piggyback with 70-300mm lens.

And then lastly: 5) Using the C8 as the guide and a 90mm refractor as the camera lens; 6) Using the 90mm as the guide and the C8 as the camera lens; 7) A view of my drive corrector. I installed a frequency/voltage meter into the Parks tripod head I have so I can keep track of things during the night.
Pretty fun to use, I think.

Thanks David,
I'm really looking forward taking pictures with Veloce. It has been such a lousy weather for the past couple of months that I have only been able to take some test photos. Anyway, it looks like a very high quality scope and I'm happy to finally have it in my hands

Just remove the OTA, fill gaps, sand and use masking tape at both ends.
Did you locate the 'how to' thread I posted?
I recommend you wrap rather than paint cause it looks like a perfect pro paint job.

Nice Maksutov Tharsis, though plosses ar good eyepieces, you should consider using orthos instead, they are very good on planets.

Meade ETX-125AT (very recent model; before getting discontinued...) with enhanced diagonal/wide angle lens, and an improvised counterweight system. Pros: A nice long focal length viewing platform for planets as well as deep space. Cons: Very heavy with the setup shown, requires a wedge to overcome declination limitations. Note: There is no vignetting with this setup.

I want to buy an ortho 7mm for planets, have a BST explorer 8mm very good but I need an eye piece for good seeing conditions at 300x.
Un saludo.

It's now a month old and has seen stars twice. That's the way it is in Oregon in the winter, cloudy and wet. This weekend is looking like it may allow some viewing. I hope so, I need to first light a new set of Astro Tech Titans. I hope the mount can handle the 38mm Titan, dang that thing is big.
Still stock C6-SGT except I have now replaced the 6x30 with a red dot finder. Astro Tech 2" diagonal

Douglas, I got tired of it dewing up so quickly and added some arts&crafts foam from walmart or anywhere to top it (really works), but I put it along the whole length, which might be overkill. Someone told me it looked like a covered wagon, so with the funky bracket I think I'm going for a "Firefly" wild west meets sci-fi theme...!
