Ha shot of IC 417 in Auriga (the Spider and the Fl new
      #3411610 - 10/26/09 10:25 AM

Hello,

Here is a shot of IC417 in Auriga, also known as the Spider and the Fly. With the Ha filter it is a challenge to see anything where one is. That's the reason the object is offcenter. The particulars are as follows:

Scope: AT8RC with William-Optics II ff/fr
Camera: Rebel XS Modified
Exposure: 20 exposures @ 10 minutes each @ ISO 1600 Total 3 hrs. 20 min.
Mount: Eq6 Goto
Astronomik's Ha filter
Date: October 25-26, 2009
Processed with IP 3.8 software.

The object can be seen here:

Again, any suggestions or comments are most welcome. Steve

Dave,
This is actually imaging in my backyard. Unfortunately, it is getting too cold for me to go to Gilmore or River Greens.
I hope we still get to go to Calhoun sometime in the very near future. Steve
