WO BV vs. Baader Max Bright 2 inch new
      #3388595 - 10/14/09 05:18 AM

I have a WO binoviewer and like the views, but might want to upgrade. I am looking at the Baader Max Bright 2 inch. I have an 80mm Apo refractor that requires no OCA to come to focus with a BV, and am thinking that the Baader BV would provide brighter views. Would like comments regarding the Baader Max Bright 2 inch from owners of that unit, and if the upgrade would be worth while.

Regards
Daryl

Hi Daryl,
To your orientation, the maxbright is a 1.25" not a 2"
I've only heard of one 2", the Black Knight from Siebert I believe!!

Hello Daryl and rodi.
As Daryl said, the Baader Max Bright can be used with a 2" or 1,25" OCA, as you can do with a Denkmeier (2" OCS or 1,25" OCS)
Here an image where you can see this 2" OCA for maxbright bino:
http://www.galileo.cc/GALILEO-france/descriptif_accessoires.php?ref=C1137
In this case, the 2" OCA costs the same price than the bino itself.
Sorry for my bad english :-)

MaxBright accepts barrels 2"-T2 (nose piece), but it has a clear aperture of 23mm so the improvement of a 2" is merely mechanical.

As far as I know, you can use such a nosepiece in your WO

Cheers,
Patricio
