Magnifier between Telescope & DSLR? new
      #3412209 - 10/26/09 03:06 PM Attachment (14 downloads)

I have a 70 mm Meade refractor with 1.25" eyepiece size, Nikon D40 dSLR, and adapters to join them.
Are there any "eyepiece" sorts of things to magnify the image onto the CCD of the camera? Or any ideas?

Makes no sense to shoot images of planets with so much black in the image, quite a waste of megapixels.

Thanks! (My Jupiter stacked images attached (100% cropped))

Duh, I should've thought of that.
Thank you.

Now, this may not be appropriate for this section of the forum, but are there any considerations to make in selecting the correct barlow lens?
Such as a way to make sure to get the right length and magnification (I see mostly 2x and 3x) so that it is still in the focusable range of the scope?

You might try eyepiece projection as using a barlow or Powermate to increase magnification will also increase the vignette you may already be getting with the 1.25" adapter.
