How to fix this problem ?? new
      #3406516 - 10/23/09 03:33 PM

Hi everybody

I have a little problem.

I have a Meade LX200R/GPS 14”.
When I “PARK” the scope, the software in the scope keeps tracking the sky. Even when the scope is powered down.
Then after a couple of hours I power up the scope, but now the software and the scope are two different places. How can I stop this. So the scope software stops tracking the sky, when It’s in Park mode.

Hi

If I have understood this right. You can’t stop the scopes software, following the sky.

When you unpark the scope, then you need to make a sync on a star, to correct mechanical error between the scope and the software.

Have I got if right???

The link is for the LX200 "CLassic" scopes, the PARK option in the autostar 2 of your scope might work differently.

Slew to Polaris before you park. It will stay on Polaris until you start up again.

I don't think the software keeps tracking the sky. When you restart the telescope, it thinks its still at the same date/time as when you PARKed it - until it gets its GPS fix. At that point, when you sync on a star, you're good to go.
