Hi all -
It was clear here in Minneapolis last night and not too cold, with pretty good seeing. I brought out the Questar 3.5 and decided to do a little imaging.
Most of the time I spent was on the moon, with the image below coming out best -- comments and suggestions are most welcome! If it stays clear tonight I hope to get in a bit more imaging.
Best regards,
Paul Schroeder

Excellent image! Was your setup through the axial port, or did you take the photo through the eyepiece afocally?
-------------------- ---------------------
Questar 3.5 standard - pyrex and BB coatings
Powerguide II
8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 24mm and 32mm Brandons
modified Bogen 3030 w/ homebuilt wedge
Homebuilt Galileo scope and very large and ugly homemade tripod
other odds and ends, including iPod Touch with StarMap Pro (what a marvelous combo)...

I end up taking these images through the eyepiece port, but with a Lumenera camera attached. I don't have an axial port adapter and this approach works fine. In addition, this way I can use the built-in barlow.
Attached is one more image I took, of Jupiter. I only was able to take one try at Jupiter, the fox that roams about our back yard was getting a bit too curious . I think with a bit more time I could have gotten a better image.
Best regards,
Paul

Hi Paul, A better image with more time? Are you serious? I think this image is a wonderful result with great familiarity to the visual impression of jupiter in a good small telescope.

Thanks, yes, I believe south is up.
I appreciate the comments!
Attached below is an image I took last night, this was probably at the outer limit of what the seeing would tolerate (in terms of magnification).
I also put together a full-moon mosaic that I thought worked fairly well -- I was going to post it here but the file is way too big (1.3 meg). For those of you who are on the Yahoo Questar group I was able to post it there.
Best regards,
Paul
