Interesting Crater Formation...help me identify? new
      #3414696 - 10/27/09 06:57 PM

This was last night (10-26-09) about 8:30pm Central time:

I'm sure someone can educate me on what this crater is. I imagine it's a once-a-month happening, but this is the first time I've seen it. About 3/4 of the way toward the southern pole along the terminator, there is a crater that is totally shadowed in the center with the exception of a small peak and the rim of another smaller crater inside of it that is lit by the sun.....not quite a full ring, but an almost closed C. Probably the coolest thing I've seen so far while observing the moon.

Also had a bonus of a satellite streaking thru the FOV while looking at it!
