The feature you are asking about is part of the mask.
This page will explain how to program the mask so it produces crosshairs on the display:

You can also download the controll software from the MallinCam Yahoo Group, get or make a control cable and then just click the cross hair box in the software to engage and dis-engage the cross hairs.

Marcus, Jack or anyone, have you tried to align your go to scope with the crosshairs? Does the picture delay give any problems? If the delay between pictures do not present a problem, this seems like a good way to align.

Don - If you were to align on a bright object the delay would be minimal and no problem whatsoever.

You're right Johnny. The alignment went very smooth and was putting objects nearly in the middle of my screen. The short delay doesn't make any difference. Actually, the alignment was much better than when I use an eyepiece. The part I liked was I was able to perform the entire alignment without removing my eyeglasses. Eyeglasses can be a hassle when doing alignment. Thanks for your input.

I like to drop down from Sen. 128 to say 64, that tightens up the star and cuts the lag time in half.

Good luck Don, sounds like you're having fun. You can even go SENS UP OFF and go to exposures like 1/200 or even less on bright planets and the moon, so it is virtually live.
