Here are some pics to see if anyone knows more about this scope. I can find NO information on the Meade website. The black crackle finish is on metal not plastic

I've never heard of an ETX90 on a metal mount. Did you buy it new? I'm wondering if someone fitted the ETX90 on the 2045 mount?

I bought it used on e-bay recently. It could be from the first production run of etx-90 OTA's and they put them on what they had before they designed the new mount. This mount is sturdy and heavy. I want a tripod for it but am not sure what will work plus a new Meade mount would cost me more than I paid for the scope!

Well, the OTA is definitely that familiar "Meade Blue", but the mount has me stumped. One possibility is it might have been a limited production run for a particular market and/or client. For instance, there are apparently some white tube ETX-125's out there that were made for a government or military project that was subsequently scrubbed. The instruments were likely either liquidated in-house or sold as surplus lots to government auction houses.
In any event, looks like you either have a rare bird, or a possible "Franken-Scope" hybrid that someone put together. So long as it works, it's all good!

Wow, that's a beauty! It looks like it's in wonderful condition as well. You might be able to find the table-top legs in the Meade Outlet Store.

Legs came with it but the adjustable leg does not have any markings on it, not that it matters to me. I have yet to test the AC RA drive but I am currently looking for a field tripod. The only piece missing is the rear cover, I have a plastic eyepiece cap on it but would assume it had a nice turned aluminum cover (which I want!) like is on the top.

I'm betting it's a 2045 mount.
