The Elephant's Trunk Nebula new
      #3416238 - 10/28/09 02:27 PM Attachment (16 downloads)

Here is our shot at IC1396 and the Elephant's Trunk using the AT8IN. Pretty tough target from our light-polluted skies. Higher-res image with details is here. Thanks for looking and comments are welcomed!

Ya thats a dim one to try to shoot from anywhere but dark skies , very impressive to pull out so much detail.

Spectacular! Makes me want to junk the CPC800 and get an AT8IN! Really nice work.

Cheers.

Great shot. I have been struggling with that object in my area (too much light pollution).

Thanks, everyone! We really struggled with this one trying to make sure it didn't look "over-processed". Appreciate you all taking a look!

Hi Sean, Yep...122 subs over 2 nights. We have a limited view of the sky, so we have to do multiple nights to get in enough time. Thanks for looking!
