Vela sure is the best constellation for open clusters and IC 2391 surely is one of the good ones for small apertures.

Keep the southern gems coming!

Nuncius,

An excellent observation of IC 2391. This appears to be an interesting open cluster. Your stars appear tighter (smaller in diameter) than your previous observations. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Wonderful rendering of IC2391. The weather for some of us up north hasn't been too good either (snow this week that stuck for the first time). I'm glad you were able to sneak this one in and share it Nuncius!

Nuncius,

Your open cluster sketch looks very nice, the balance of bright and dim stars adds to the beauty of the scene you have captured.

A fine rendering of this cluster, Nuncius. I have yet to observe objects in Vela much, although I can get quite a bit of the constellation from my south part of the northern hemisphere. Your sketch makes me want to see what I can pull from Vela the next it appears here.
