Hi I have a couple of questions to the Paramount users. 1. Is there any panic Esc functionality to stop the slewing, if anything seems to going wrong? 2. Is the balance knobs designed for constant use? 3. Is the mount keeping the pointing accuracy after the complete power off and power on? 4. And finally how can I preset the hit the base points? I mean is a configurable combination of RA and Declination pairs or limits ? Thanks for any answer…

You can stop slewing in "TheSky", although the user interface is really sluggish while the mount is slewing, so if I got scared, I'd likely just cycle the power off on the mount.

Not sure what you mean here. The balance knobs don't really control the balance anyway.

Yes.

Again, not quite sure what you mean, but you can definitely define a park position for the mount. You can also define a horizon line below which the mount will not slew - this is an arbitrary line, so if you have obstacles in a certain spot you can define the horizon line so that it will not allow a slew through that area.

I know the knobs don’t control the balance, but I need to balance the mount quite often, by removing or adding a scope or by making visual use of the scope removing and adding the camera. I understand that loosing the knobs simple detach the worms gear from the main Gear. So my question is: Can I do it so often or damage can happen to the worms and gears. Sorry if it seems as a silly question but seems to me that this is not the best method to release the coupling in order to make balance. Is the coupling of gear- worm gear a spring loaded system?

There are some situations where if the mount continue to slewing or to drive, the camera will hit the base. Can I define these positions in order to make sure that the mount will stop to drive or to slewing when approach to these positions ?
