Decided to shoot M33 the other night. Due to the weather, it's my first outing in over a month. I did shoot it from my house on the outskirts of the city where I'm well within a red zone.
I attempted Psyire's processing method from the "Convince me I need PS" thread and I've been very happy with the results. If you haven't seen it, it's worth a read.
Feel free to critique or even make suggestions of things to try in PS. I'd love to know how you would suggest getting rid of the lighter areas in the top corners. I think it's a result of my light box not being 100% evenly illuminated, but it could also be LP from the city.

Very nice. I've been battling it out with M33 and processing it for many weeks now. I find it a tricky one. I'm not satisfied yet and may just end up re-shooting it, start from scratch again.
With regards to the top corner, one thing I have done to cheat things in cases like this was to use the burn tool in PS moderately in the area. Try and blend it or even it out. Worked not to bad. Might be something to try.

Very nice job!
I'm also an M33 processing victim. I can only get the 2 major arms to show and the rest hides.
I will have to check out the thread you mentioned, especially since i shot it from a red zone just like you did with good exposures.

Thanks guys. Usually I battle with the tougher targets at my home and finally give up and head out to the dark site. This time, I feel like I finally got some better results.
The new processing method certainly helps. In the past, I had worked in levels more then curves. The new method maintains the integrity of the data a lot longer and allows for more processing without it looking over-processed. I can definately say I learned something from Psyire's post and the annual curves thread. Thanks for those!
I cannot wait to try it from a dark site. My camera was recently modded, and I haven't been able to shoot any worthy emission nebula yet. Has the weather always been this bad or just since I got my telescope?

I presume by "new" you meant new to you? 
Do you have any idea what the colour in the corner is due to? Amp glow, light pollution gradients etc. If you can give us the evidence we can help with mitigating the effect.
For example if you take a dark frame and over stretch it you should be able to discover the amp glow areas and then see if they match were you have those corner residuals. Again if you add a tempory "levels" layer in photoshop over your main image and move the white point up and down you will reveal any background gradients and the direction they lie by the way the white (clipped) area floods over the image as teh white points is moved to the black point.
There are plenty of diagnostic methods like this which lead you to discovering what is wrong in the image and this of course leads to solutions

Yes... New processing method for me.
After equalizing my dark, I do see a bit of color in the suspect corners. Possible Amp glow? I've never noticed this before, so I went back to darks I took the day before at a higher temperature, and there is no corner glow.
I did have my camera modified recently, but as I look at more darks taken with the post-mod camera, this set used in M33 is the only one showing the corner glow. Older darks with the unmodded camera have no corner artifacts.
I'm giving burn a try, and it's working, but needs some fixing to get rid of the blotches.

Nice M33 Adam, I'm glad my write up has helped you out. I was able to get rid of most of the corner glow with one pass of GradientXterminator. I do agree though that you should investigate the source of this problem (as you are) and try and eliminate it.

i live in ohio and just got a whole bunch of new toys. it has been cloudy since then. over a month with only a few nights (that i of course wasnt able to get out and take advantage of) have been clear. and no clear nights in the forcast either.

Hi Adam,
Great M33 image and first light image with your modified 1000D! Imaging from a darker site will surely bring out more of the galaxy. If all of your darks with the modified camera are showing a corner glow, that should not be amplified glow since the 1000D does not have amp glow. You can check how the darks were taken to be sure that the scope was fully capped, no lights were in the area when the darks were taken and that the camera viewfinder was fully covered. A test you can make is to take a dark with the camera body only with body cap on, in a dark room. This would rule out amplifier glow.

The first dark's that I took a day earlier from my side porch in complete dark didn't show the glow. I took the newer ones at a lower temperature, but hooked up to the scope in my driveway. It's possible that it's light leaking in from my neighbors spotlight.
I'll have to get out and do some more shooting and testing, but I'm suspecting the light leak at this point. Once I get up to the observatory, I'll have some nice dark skies to really test it out. Of course the weather hasn't been friendly.
I was planning on sending you some results, but I was waiting for a nice emission nebula shot from dark skies to really take advantage of the new mod.
