Gave the Moon a try today, Can you use Ninoxmfor the Moon ? Some special processing techniques ?

Looks good Freddy, you could do it with Ninox but then you should get rid of the cut= statements.
If I were you, I would try to stack with Avistack, especially good for the moon!!

A bit dark to my taste, but very nice detail. Give ninox a try (and dont forget to post to show the difference :P)

Thanks Mert, I'll try Ninox later this weekend... Indeed the image was a bit too dark, did some Gamma adjusting... Thanks Doug for the name of the crater.

Why would you want to use ninox for moon images? Is it for quality sorting? Otherwise I would think that it would be a needless step before aligning and stacking in registax...

I don't believe Wesley advises ninox for non-planetary registration, since its looking for a spherical object to center. For the moon, Registax or AviStack are the recommended packages. I think Iris also will work well.

I guess that Ninox is indeed not the right thing to do, but what is an average stack for a good Lunar Image ? 200 ? 500 ? or more ??
