Heart and Soul Mosaic V2 with filled-in bits....
      #3419671 - 10/30/09 06:53 AM Attachment (11 downloads)

OK Folks. Only a few hours left to work on the mosaic of the Heart and Soul. I went back and shot some more frames to fill in a few gaps, and reprocessed everything, working primarily in Photoshop after initial stretching in pixInsight. It may be a little too candy-apple red, and I've been staring at these four panels for so long I still see them when I close my eyes. So it's time to get a little last minute feedback before submitting to the contest for the month. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

The stats are about the same as last time, inly I've got about 25 minutes in on each of the :non-target" panels, as opposed to the 10 minutes each I had before. It's about 1hr40min on the Heart and 1hr11min on the Soul. 5 minute subs with the modded XTi @ iso800 through the EON 72mm @ f4,8, piggybacked on the CPC925 on a Mitty wedge, guided with SSAG through the CPC.

Thanks for looking!

Excellent image! I've yet to give mosaics a try, however this is a very good example of why I should - My shortest FL is 308...

That sir, is a winning image.

Do you have a proper high resolution version available somewhere? I bet it came out pretty fantastic since this is a mosaic.

LOL! Thanks everyone. I think "Now click 'Submit'..." is my favorite advice I've gotton on the boards. Whew, sounds like I can be done. I have a higher res version up the tweaking chain quite a bit, so it would be a lot of work to get it to this level. Maybe when a cloudy week or two hits.

I find you have to make a lot of compromises in a mosaic, especially when you have limited time, as well as varied amounts of time, on the different panels. But contest or no contest, I'm happy with the image. Just going for the challenge each month feels like a win in my book. Makes me push a bit farther than I normally would.
