M39 Open Cluster in Cygnus w EON 72mm new
      #3415449 - 10/28/09 03:59 AM Attachment (25 downloads)

Hi Folks. I needed a break from the nebulous stuff with the Heart and Soul mosaic and other dim targets I've been working on. I shot pretty deep, so the cluster gets a little lost in all the stars, but i think it's a pretty shot.

This is 35 minutes of 5 minute exposures with the modded Canon XTi @ iso800 through the EON 72mm @ f4.8 w IDAS LP2 filter, piggybacked on the CPC925 on a Mitty wedge, guided with SSAG through the CPC925.

Here's a link to a bigger version:

and a little one for here...

Nice job, Nick - those suckers are really turquoise blue, aren't they?

yeah great shot nick!!I really like that widefield! I agree with you Iam going to stop nebula adventure and give some attention to star clusters:)) I have this misconception that beauty is always at the side of the nebulas so I forget clusters!!
