Hi, I am trying to build a case for my LX90 and was wondering if someone could kindly provide some dimensions.
I chanced upon the idea here: http://www.cloudynights.com/item.php?item_id=546
Unfortunately the author's email does not seem to be working anymore.
I have in mind cases of this nature:
http://www.amazon.com/Footlocker-Wheeled-Storage-Gallon-Package/dp/B001ELIEU2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=office-products&qid=1256787912&sr=8-7
However these cases are just about 2" less wide than the LX90's storage box. If anyone has any experience building a case for your LX90s, I would appreciate it if you could let me know the dimensions of your custom cases.
Also, if anyone could tell me the dimensions of the actual foam in the LX90 box, that would be great. I have my box elsewhere (in another country) and so cannot measure it for myself.
Thank you very much!

I went to Northern Tool and bought a similar rolling case like the one in your picture; just a little bit wider. The original Meade foam fits inside, with a little space left at the end for odds and ends.

Many thanks for the tip, Joe.
Did you just pluck the foam out of the LX90 box or put the box in this?

Mine came in a Meade cardboard box with a solid piece of foam on the bottom and on the top of the OTA (form fitted) inside the cardboard box. I just removed the two pieces of foam and set them inside the rolling tool chest from Northern Tool.
A tiny bit of trimming was needed, nothing of any significance.
