Dear observers,
this night I had the chance to see Phocyclides in interesting light. The time of skecthing the shadows was 20:15 UT. I used my 6 inch Mak at 144x.

Uwe,
I really like your capture of Phocyclides with its worn and eroded outer wall. Nicely captured.

Historian Donald Osterbrock called him (Edward Barnard) an "observe-aholic," because Barnard, happiest when he could spend all night observing, was moody and difficult when the sky was cloudy.

Uwe,
Ah! That union between Phocyclides and Nasmyth is an interesting and unique one. I really like the shadows there during waxing gibbous. This is a beautiful drawing--great shadows. Nice work Uwe.

Very nice sketch with interesting light in the crater Phocyclides. I wish I could have seen this last night. We have had constant clouds and rain in Portland for the past week

Uwe,
An excellent observation of Phocyclides. You have captured the floor detail and shadows very nicely. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Very nice sketch of an area that I posted about. See: "Interesting Phocylides and Nasmyth feature #3374429 - 10/06/09 12:20 PM" in the Lunar Observing forum. The lighting will be similar to my post on 11/28/09. Any sketches / observations near that date would be very welcome in my post.
