I have a Losmandy G11 that had a 10" Meade F6.3 tube on it. Worked great. After a windstorm scored a knockout on the OTA I have put a used C14 and 40# of counterweights on it this afternoon. I am standing out in my little observatory scratching my head and wondering if this is really going to work! I always thought the G11 was beefy but I look at this array and wonder. Help!

The G11 will work fine with a C14 for visual. Forget it as an imaging combination though, you'll need more mount than that.

Thanks Phil. That sounds about right. The only "photo" work I'll do is a StellaCam3.

It'll be fine. I also use my G-11 to carry my C-14 XLT Fastar. I'm a visual observer / soon-to-be Mallincam user so cannot speak from experience about photography.
However.., despite what a number of folks often say - it IS possible to image with a G11 / C-14 rig, and there are some that do.

We all have slightly different ideas of what a mount can carry. Personally I agree that imaging is not going to be as productive with as tight as stars that you would have with a larger mounting. Visually, I think your slightly beyond what I would call ideal but not much. A C-11, 8" F/6 or 10" F/4-5 newt, and 5" F/8 or less refractors are very nice fit on a G-11. I think the C-14 would be acceptable visually just not as stable as some would like.
