I am wondering what's the reasonable price for a Fujinon 25x150 EDMT-SX ED in new condition.

Oberwerk had the 25X150 ED-SX listed for $9,695 before they were continued:

That was a while ago, when the USD was stronger. Perhaps 100 yen= $1 USD. I guess the price should be at least 10% higher at today's FX rate. I know the Canon 15/18X IS prices have increased by similar % in the last few years.

I think the MTs are going for $6000 now, and I doubt that the EDs are worth $4000 more (which may be why fuji is discontinuing the EDs)

I wonder which version of these binos was available in 1985. I recall receiving a brochure on them from Fuji and the price was $10,000.

I agree Ed ....
IMO: The extra $ could be put towards items that would enhance observing more than the ED glass would, like a good mount, filters (the nebula filter for the 150 really does work like an OIII) and etc. Also ..... it has been my experience that once a premium item like this is no longer available the prices start to rise dramatically. But, placing a wanted ad might yield a better price .... lots of folks looking to let loose of their toys at what (or even less) than they paid, these days.
Best regards,
Gary
