Hi all,
I disappeared into the aether again for a while but hopefully am back for a longer stay
I'm pleased to report that my sky guide for 2010 is now available for you to download. This is a 36-page overview to what's up in the skies for the year ahead. The monthly notes are geared more towards observers at my latitude (53N) but more comprehensive details about various astronomical phenomena can be found in the other pages too. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to know more about a particular event or if you spot errors that need to be corrected. Enjoy!
Sky Guide 2010 is hosted on the file sharing web site Mediafire at the moment but the main www.irishastronomy.org forum should have a link added soon so the Mediafire pop-up ads don't appear.
You can downloaded it by clicking here
Next, you need to click on the sky_guide_2010.pdf file name in Mediafire and then the "Click here to download" prompt on the left-hand side of the next displayed page.
All the best,
John

Hi guys,
Many thanks for the kind comments and for linking to the guide on your site Joe.
The section on the planets has been updated with diagrams showing the positions of the major planets during 2010. I have kindly been given the permission to include these by Martin J Powell in the UK who hosts a wonderful site on the planets here
I have also added a single page on the many aspects of rainbows to round out the page count to 40 in case anyone is printing the guide up in magazine/booklet form.
Ephemerides for the planets are now added to the site in both pdf and csv (the latter so you can manipulate the table), along with the sky guides for 2009 and 2008. You can jump straight to the Mediafire folder by clicking here
Have a good weekend everyone!
John
