The SkyScan is a CG-6-class mount. The CG-6 mount is quite a bit bigger than the CG-5. There's no real fair comparison between the two mounts other than that. CG-6 is the CG-5's "big brother" in every way. They are both produced by Synta, so build quality should be similar. The Celestron GOTO system works well.
