Byers 812 help needed new
      #3418801 - 10/29/09 06:08 PM

Amici,

This is my first post on CN.

I recently acquired a badly abused and hotrodded Byers 812. I have restored all the mechanical pieces and replaced the bearings, but am now trying to understand the electronics. I am sure that some of the stuff I am finding occurred after the mount left Ed Byers shop (e.g., 3 limit switches).

The Byers Yahoo forum appears to have died years ago.

Does anyone have an instruction manual, or wiring diagram that they could help me with? If the copies are electronic, I can host them on my web site so that others can access this information.

Thanks much!

Shane

The mount came with limit switches in place. The gear is only a segment that allows for 2 hours of tracking hence the need to cut power to the motor before it runs out of gear. I don't recall if it came with an instruction manual per se. The mechanics are pretty much straight forward.

It's a workhorse of a mount. I tust it to hold this 9".

David Williams graciously scanned a copy of the manual and sent it to me.

I have placed a copy on my website. You can pick it up at:

Thanks, David!
