Great work as always Paul. I've been meaning to ask you. Is there a trick you learned in regards to focus? All of your images, especially of Mars, seem to have the focus dead on. And its such a small target. Did you come up with a technique or something that helps?

Joel,

Thanks! I learned a trick not too long ago from someone here. I lower the gamma from 1.0 (on my software) to about .7 or so, then focus. That has helped. The other trick on Mars is to have the blue filter online and have the settings on the computer for the green filter. Right now the NPH stands out and I try to focus on the rim of it. Mostly I just keep going in and out of focus until it "looks right". It sometimes takes me 10-15 minutes to get focus. Having an electric focus sure helps too.

Paul
