Hi Folks. Last night I dusted off the Canon EF 70-300mm lens that's been on the shelf for over a year. I tried a few piggyback shots with it early on after purchasing the CPC925, but never got much out of it. So I gave it a try on some targets last night, and here's the first one out of the processing gate. I would have framed in NGC7000 and the Pelican if I realized they were in frame. Regardless, I like the shot, and I think the lens did quite well.
This is 90 minutes of 90 second exposures with the modded Canon XTi @ iso800 with the 70-300mm zoom @ 70mm, f4.5, no filters, piggybacked on the CPC925, guided with SSAG through the CPC. After DSS, I did all the processing in Photoshop, instead of my usual PixInsight stretching. I may try a PixInsight version in the near future.
Comments and suggestions welcome...especially about the color...is it too pinky?

Ya I agree I think the colors look right and you should definitely use that lens again.
