Hello, I have a question: Is there some way to connect my canon XT to my computer "wireless"? If there is some way. How? I'm not a computer man. Thank you.

Not that I know of, but I have to ask why..? The closest I think you could get would be to hook it all to a laptop, then wireless to another computer. After all, if you're going to wireless your DSLR, don't you want to wireless your mount and cameras?

I think there is some kind of wireless remote that uses the IR controller but I believe it has limits , I have the shoestring astronomy connector that goes to the remote plug and its only one of a half a dozen wires I have going to my mount.

Yep. (1) Use a laptop to control the mount and DSLR. (2) Setup a Wireless AP such that the laptop (1) and desktop PC (3) can communicate with each other. (3) Then use a desktop PC to remote control the laptop. (VNC server in laptop and VNC client in Desktop PC.)

Yes you can with the this Canon WFT-E2A Wireless File Transmitter (WFT). But that darn thing is about $1000.
Having said that, a wireless laptop outside with your rig and you inside at your PC with remote desktop sharing will be cheaper, even if you have to purchase a new laptop.
Enjoy

Ya maybe a cheapo netbook for a few hundred , might be more then you want to spend but guiding will probably be in your future anyway.

Zactly what I do!! I get everything started, then go inside and monitor progress. NexRemote lets me change targets and I can control all of the capture/guiding software from the the house.

You also have the power supply wire from the AC adapter (unless you go battery!).
What I found useful is to bundle the cables together (focuser, power supply, file downloader, and back when I had the 20d, the shutter control) into one plastic wrap. Still a thick heavy cable, but they stayed together, did not tangle, and there was only one of them.
