I would appreciate anybodys experience with 10 XW's in their bino, merging, comfort and of course performance. I know that their IPD is ok for me as I have the 20XW's And balance issues won't be a problem Cheers Paul

A friend at my astronomy club has a vintage Astrophysics 6" refractor. The last time he brought the refractor to a club observing night, he set it up with his binoviewer and a new pair of Pentax 10xw's. The moon just past first quarter. It was awesome, like watching HD television. There was no difficulties with merging. Here is a photo taken by a hand held digital camera using a lower power ep through that telescope the same night: Gibbous Moon It was published in the local newspaper for a monthly astronomy column.
My brother owns this ep and uses it infrequently with his 9.25" SCT. The views with it are a little soft.
The Pentax XW's are premium ep's and will help maximize the telescope you own. IMHO, the whole XW series is comparable to the TV Naglers. Great contrast and flat field. Some observers prefer them to the TV.
On the other hand they are pricey. I'd make sure that you can get good focus with a similar focal length, less expensive ep before buying 2 of these.

I have 14XW pairs and they are fantastic. I have also tried with 10XW pairs and this is also fantastic (one was mine and the other a friends). The only thing holding me back from getting another 10XW is justifying the cost, especially since i already have 3 pairs of eyepieces for binoviewing, and an OCA with 3 different magnification settings.
