I am contemplating a move up to a SXVF-H16 mono. Can anyone tell me how much more work it will be to move up from a one shot color SXVF-H9C? I am not experience with filter wheels and such at this time.

Well, there is more work for sure. Giving a meaningful measure to it it's difficult though. It depends on a lot of factors. I can tell you what my situation is, for example, and you can draw some conclusion.
I have the Atik equivalent of the SXV-H9, the 314L. When I image, I have to manually change filters (well, the wheel is motorized) because of changes in the focus. I don't have an electric focuser, so for now, I cannot automate this. When I process my images, of course I have to assemble the RGB frames first, then calibrate then and then add the luminance or Ha data to it.
Those are the main differences from the OSC I can think of. Of course, there'll be more, but I'm sure someone else will chime in.
