I just got an Olympus PEN E-P1 and considering the large sensor is directly in the back without mirrors and the programability , I would think it should be good for astrophotography. Does anyone have any experience or suggestion on hooking this up to my 11" CPC?

I'm quite interested in this concept as well. I've never seen anyone connect a micro four thirds system to a telescope before...

Micro Four-thirds is an interesting and exciting concept. One thing I don't like on the current Panny and Oly mFT is by-default the shutter is open (sensor exposed) configuration. This includes power off situation. (Lens cap on is essential.)
In using telescope as a manual lens situation, especially if OTA is Newt, the sensor will be exposed to open air all the time (except just before exposure and right after exposure). It's going to be a dust magnet.
BTW, if pointing mFT at the Sun (thru a big OTA), it's not going to be mechanical shutter gets damaged, it's the sensor itself gets damaged.
P.S. I don't know in RAW mode, (even with RAW OFF set) if any in-body software Noise-Reduction algorithm would still kick in.

That's a good point about dust. Was looking at getting a adapter and fitting it on to try.
