It appeared to be a very innovative rubber band... Or, if you can't listen to a brass band at work you might as well look at a rubber band...

It turns out this will not be our last star party of the year. Due to a nice weather pattern here in Utah we have decided to hold one more under the lights on a grocery store parking lot.
The big refractors won't be there but we will be well represented anyway. I'll bring the 160, Steve will bring either the 6 or the 8.
Y'all are welcome.

Thank you for the compliments.
This thread has now had over 4,000 downloads. 18 pictures have been downloaded over 100 times, 1 over 200 times.
It is still amazing to me though that a rubber band would have 28 downloads and a cut rubber band would have 13. I'm not sure what that says about this group.

Don't know where to start about your 9"F/14 AC refractor, so all I can say is BEAUTIFUL !!!
(While visiting in South Africa my daughter took this photo many years ago of
a Zeiss refracting telescope. I'll include her photo of the objective lens in a later post here.)

Here is the photo of the Zeiss objective I spoke of in my earlier post. If I remember I think it may have been a 10" F/12.

The engraving on the lens says 30cm. Is that a 12" lens? If so that's a WOW factor.

Maybe that is 301cm for the focal length?

I think you may be right. That would make it a 10" F/12.
It looks reasonable. Strange way to designate it though unless the "B" stands for Back Focus, then there's the dot and equal sign followed by "30", and is that a "1"(?) "cm". The "1" looks incomplete.
