StarShoot Deep Space Color Camera and Raw Format new
      #3426178 - 11/02/09 08:02 PM

Hi All,
I am just getting started on imaging with an original Orion StarShoot DSCI (the original version). At this point I'm only really interested in monochrome images. Are the RAW images monochrome and can I leave them that way for further processing? If not, is there a way to convert them to a monochrome image. Right now I'm using the MaxIm DL Essentials program and a old copy of Photoshop Essentials 5.5. Thanks for the help,

Mike

No they are not. You will notice that they look like a gauze has been placed over the image, you need to convert to color then to mono to get all the pixels into the final image. But if you image 2x2 the resultant images are mono.

Steve,

Thanks for the quick reply and the photo examples. That shows me what the problems is. Thanks again,

Mike
