Hi all,
I am planning on getting into monochrome CCD imaging for both planets and DSOs.
I plan on getting a DMK-21AU04-AS and maybe some StarShoot Pro Monochrome CCD eventually. (I currently have an Orion StarShoot Pro v2 and a Neximager.)
I would like to ask whether I need to get 1.25" AND 2" filters, or would 2" filters be enough for both these cameras? In other words, can I have 2" filters in a 2" filter wheel and then use a 2"-1.25" eyepiece adapter for the smaller CCD chip, rather than have two separate sets of filters and filter wheels?
Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you!

A 2" filter will give you identical results compared to a 1.25" filter when used with a smaller chip, assuming both filters are of the same type and company.
So yeah, I'd save some money and go for the 2" filters right away. Keep the 2" to 1.25" adapter as short as possible though, you might not be able to reach focus otherwise (depending on your scope).
