Astrotech 8RC Accessories new
      #3428069 - 11/03/09 07:10 PM

Hi all

I'm looking for some suggestions for the following:

1)Recommended dew shield
2)Heater strip for the secondary.
3)Mounting solution for an ADM 14" DUP so I can mount a guide/imaging scope.

I looked through the forums however most of the images posted in other threads do not clearly show some of the gear for the above.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
I just picked up a SBIG ST-2000 to use in combo with this new scope.

Thanks in advance
Troy

Astronomics sells the Astrozap 8" dew shield/lens shade for the AT8RC. With your CN discount it is $34.15.

Kendricks is good for heater strips but with the Astrozap I don't think it will be necessary.

You have that great Vixen Dovetail (male) running the length of the AT8RC (on the top). Get an Vixen style accessory adapter (female)(usually weighs 11 oz) to mount your guide scope on. If you have rings on you guide scope you can take the ADM 14' DUP off and save at least a pound of weight.

Luck, Bill

I second the Astrozap that Astronomics has listed on the scope's page at the bottom. Very well made and fits like a glove.

Here is one item that might take care of items #1 & #2 and it is Kendrick Astrozap. This one page will give you three choices and they have a model just for the AT8RC.
