I saw the 8 in Cave in the Bay this morning. I have bought from the seller before, A Schmidt camera and C14 parts from San Jose state a few years ago. They get scopes once in a while. I put in the first bid. Cant get down there to check it out however.

This OTA looks like a 1st cousin of the 20TE. The Japanese spec sheet is hard to read. Looks to me like 108mm x 1600mm. But the party states 101mm. Has a 25x50mm guide scope which can be used as a high power finder. Even has a threaded CW shaft too. Mike
Hi Mike,
Here is a better version of the Jap spec sheet. It is the 108/1600. Sometimes was labelled 101. I ignore if this includes an actual diaphragm or it just labeling.

Further, I was the one asking the question posted by the seller. He confirms that the focuser has SYW engraved. So I would go ahead with confidence. It's all yours guys: I've already got mine...
Good luck!

Wow! Those are fantastic Max. I love the pier mounted, but I love the turned wood legs even more. They appear to be made of Maple, considering the bit of curl in the top of the one leg, as well as the color that they were stained. I can't recall ever seeing turned legs like that on a tripod. It sure is surprising to see that. The mount looks quite substantial as well and those counterweights are threaded which is really nice. They certainly don't make them like those anymore. The wooden legged mount could double as furniture legs from that era. Thanks for the photos. Rich

I'd like to bid on this, but doubt my max price will be close to others'.
I also have a 12.5" Cass with Beck optics that I should be using instead!

Preston,
I am not clear whether the above images answer your request but, in any case, hereunder is how the legs end...

... and here is the whole profile of a single leg...
Very beautiful curve. A real work of art, if I may.
Cheers,
