Any thoughts on this model? Are they still in production? I think not but have heard they are good scopes. Any thoughts?

If I'm not mistaken the OTA is more or less the same as the Synta/Celestron versions. The mount and accessories were probably not up to Celestron standards though.

Same OTA as Celestron/Skywatcher with the exception of the paint. Really good general purpose scope but it deserves an Atlas/CGEM level mount and an improved focuser.

If I recall the mount Konus supplied was very much like the Orion AstroView. Way to much scope for this mount

Even with the newer CG-5 now supplied with it this OTA is undermounted. My Antares with its shorter length just makes it as a visual mounted on the ASGT or LXD-75.

I have one of them among the Collection of a Telescopist. They are built very well but when I first got mine I noticed that there was a slight problem with CA.I took the lenses out separated them and added six spacers. This seemed to have corrected the CA greatly, but not completely so it now depends on which eyepiece I use as to slight CA.Anyone else noticed this in their scope? It is not a major issue after the correction was done.Gary(G )
