Callisto transit - October 31 re-process
      #3428579 - 11/04/09 01:46 AM Attachment (14 downloads)

I didn't have much time to work on my initial image of Jupiter with a Callisto transit on October 31 as our new baby was only 3 days old. Now I've had a few extra minutes, I've managed to extract a bit more detail from the source AVIs, including resolving Callisto as (a bit) more than just a solid black disk. It's amazing how dark Callisto is when transiting Jupiter - my first thought was that I caught the shadow, but it's the actual satellite that is showing.

Looks a little "blown out" in the center on my monitor. Otherwise its an absolutly splendid image, fantastic detail and albedo features on Callisto!
