It's solid, and a pleasure to use. And after the incident with the "C" clamp, I wouldn't be one to trust Meade on the accuracy of their instruction books One issue I did have with mine, though: one of the little button batteries used to illuminate the crosshairs basically fell apart. When it wouldn't light up anymore (after only 3 or 4 observing sessions), I opened the case and one of the battery casings came apart, leaking black powder all over my hands. For accurate LAT/LON, use www.airnav.com for the nearest airport. Latitude adjustment t-screw lost 1 chrome ball, super glued back on.
