CN-16 Issues new
      #3427975 - 11/03/09 06:12 PM

Does anyone have any issues using their CN-16 GPS? I have it plugged into my 8SE and it rarely pulls up the correct time. It seems obvious that you would just plug it in and go, but I could be missing something. I setup the internal scope to DST and I set the time zone appropriately. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Did you actually go into setup or utilities (can't remember which) and TURN THE GPS on.....

The red ..(overly bright) power lite will come on even if the scope is not setup to know the GPS unit is present...so just because the power light is on does not mean the scope is using the unit

BTW...I never play with DST... My GPS will flash the correct universal time after connecting then within a few seconds will flash my local time... In the summer it is just one hour behind of my watch... As of last week it is correct again...

Time zone has to be set....you did that
Now confirm the scope actually knows to look for the GPS...

The CN-16 has an on board rechargable battery. In this LINK read paragraph two and three, you'll find info that may help with your problem. It worked for me when I was having a similar issue.

I really can't say enough about Michael Swanson's NexStar Resource Site , it has much info on all things NexStar!

I hope this helps, let us know what you find.

DST has finished anyway, that may be your problem? (Not sure if you mean you set DST with adjusted time or DST with current time)
