I have noticed that the Celeston 8" OTA photos on the Celestron website have a different tube design either just as an ota or pictured on the CG5 then the 8SE tubes. But some photos of CG5s with 8"otas that I have seen in the forums look the same as the 8SE tube only black in color. Are all Celestron 8" otas made in China or just the SE series?

Each and every one of them...and its not just the 8" OTA... its all of them except the 14 inch SCT.
And my money is betting the C14 will soon be only made in China...

I can't imagine better optical quality from an SCT then that of my 8SE tube and from the reviews I read prior to buying it the quality seems very consistent.

One of the reasons maybe why the 8 SCT is the world's best selling scope to amateur astronomers in around 4 decades to date.
