Guys, is there any alt-az mount with go-to, suitable for 11-14inch SCT? I like the simplicity and go-to comfort that for ex 8SE combo is giving , I am thinking is there anything similar in bigger size?
Thanks
Radim

I have seen the Gyro (? Not sure if this is the correct spelling) used with a C11 on one side and a 6" refractor on the other side.
A Stellarvue M7 MIGHT come close too.
It is problematic though. It isn't that these big OTAs weigh so much, it is that they carry the center of gravity VERY far out from the dovetail as opposed to something like a 6" refractor that weighs the same amount.
Because of this, the pressure on the bearings is VERY assymetrical, causing a great deal of trouble getting the mount to move smoothly in azimuth.
I tried using a C8 on a very highly regarded Alt Az and even with the heavy duty mount, I found it a bit hard to get working smoothly in azimuth.
As a consquence, you may find that you NEED counterweights.
I personally think it will be a challange because not only are you putting the big assymetric load on the mount, you are also using a telescope that will work at a relativly high power (70X) as its LOWEST power. Any problems with motion will be badly aggrevated at the eyepiece.
It is a lot of telescoep for an Alt Az mount. M7 MIGHT work, but I doubt it.
Again, I DID see where a guy was using a C11 and a 6" APO as his counterweigth and I think the mount was a Gyro, so "it HAS been done." The only question now is if YOU want to do it too.. LOL.
good luck.

Sorry.. about 70x to 75x with a 41mm Pan. You could be using a 55mm Plossl though, but even with that you are talking 50x MINIMUM, and often, MUCH more than this.

I had a C8 on a DM-4 and found it to be not useable for my liking due to the narrow field of view, high powers that SCT general work at and the way the center of gravity was. Made making small adjustments extremely difficult. I almost always over-nudged
But that might just have been me.

Thanks Eddgie, I took a look on Giro3 , seems to be interesting, but I am not sure if it has GO-TO and tracking option?

This does seem like the best choice to me too.

I agree with Rich N and Lane. . . CPC1100 is the way to go! If you don't want to use the go-to features, just plug-in the power source and use the hand controller and slew the telescope wherever you want to go!

Ah, my bad. I didn't get that Go-To was REQUIRED.
Yes, NexStar 11 or CPC 11 are the only choices in this catagory. Giro type mounts don't track.
Be warned that while the C11 OTA only weighs about 30 lbs. on a fork, the weight goes to 65 Lbs or 70. Lbs. Well packaged though, and moving one is not terribly difficult.
Sorry for my misunderstanding.

I use DM-6 on Losmandy HD tripod with Vixen VMC260L when I don't want to bring G11 mount. Stability, go-to (SkyCommander) accuracy point of view, I am happy with the combo.
I would think C11 is OK but not sure with C14 on DM-6. C14 is probably borderline.

They say suitable for 14" SCT and from the specs I'd believe it. The next problem is the tripod.

Another one to consider:

I am considering it for 6" binoscope.
