Sky Commander encoder installation on truss scope new
      #3427248 - 11/03/09 11:37 AM Attachment (4 downloads)

I am planning to install the encoders on my three truss dob. I purchased the dob installation kit from Sky Engineering along with the XP4 controller. Can anyone point me to any websites with video or pictures showing step by step installation of the encoders? Also, any websites with tips so that I don't have to reinvent the proverbial wheel?
Thanks.

the center of the encoder shaft needs to be in the exact center of rotation, so don't tighten anything down until you have gone through the full range of motion, and know you have found the center.

the az is easy, its simply the center of the az bolt.

Contact me off-line. I just completed installing a SkyCommander on my 12.5" Dob that's very similar to yours. The alt encoder is easy. The az bearing may be a bit more difficult but I can help you with it.
