This summer when it was good and hot I decided to make a storage case for my Tasco 20TE. Mike

Basic power and hand tools is all I used.....no radial arm or table saw.

After painting with primer and two coats of exterior house paint.

Yeah, 'nutin like a radial arm saw. I don't have one either but maybe someday.

Very cool Mike! Does the entire pier fit in there? I can't imagine that it would but that is a great idea to have the Mount go in as well.
I built some small boxes for my C90 and my C5, and I'm going to make one for my Sears 90mm in about a week. How heavy is that to carry? I know that your OTA is pretty hefty isn't it?
I'm planning on breaking the 90mm down into just the OTA of mine in one box, and then another box, like the Unitrons have for the mount itself. The plywood will be very sturdy. Did you put felt on the half moon arcs to support the tube?

Rich...The pier weighs 75 pounds. Quicker to move in one piece. The scope and mount weigh 70 pounds. That's why I used 5/8" and not 3/4". Yep crescent moons are felt lined. one person can't lift it because of length and weight. Mike
