Hello, I have a EQ mount that I just learned was made by Edmond. Where can I find a operators manual? I didn't see one for this forum page.

thanks,

Hi Bill. What does the mount look like? what size are the shafts? gray or tan?
Correct spelling is Edmund for searching. Edmund Scientific.

I don't remember much of a owners manual but the book by Edmund Scientific "All About Telescopes" is very helpful for operating it and the drive. I think it's still in print and sold by Edmund Scientific or Anchor Optics.

Robert

Robert,

I found this picture during a web search for something else, its here on CN I just cant find it. I've had this EQ in a box for years and had no clue as to who the manufacture is until now. It is a GEM, tan in color and has balance shaft that is about 5/8ths in diameter and is 110 volt.

thanks

Bill

I found it! Here's the link on CN. Here's the mount with a 6" reflector.

Nice mount. I think they put the 4" refractor on that one also.

Might try a Google...if you do, it's EdmUnd, not EdmOnd. Frankly, even back in the day, there wasn't much provided as far as instructions. These are VERY simple mounts, and generic instructions for any GEM mount will serve. If you have any specific questions, we can answer them.
