Now can I hang a 31mm Nagler off the back (that's all I have in that size range) without problems...
That eyepiece should be no problem on either scope.

Ah, but what about your back when you try to lift the scope with the Nag in?

Yeh, you're right. The Nag probably deserves its own JMI hardshell case with rolling wheels and pull handle.

Ya know, I really think I want an Nexstar SE...I was out this weekend and saw some nice skies but because of my schedule, I didn't feel like taking the 127 APO out....

I have a C5 and a C8. While the C5 has exceptional optics, the C8 has very good optics and just blows the 6 away at both dark and 5 mag sites. If I could only have one, it would be the C8.

Glad you like your C8 , but let's not exaggerate.
One could just as easily say the C6 "blows away" the C8 in terms of price and portability but that too would be an exaggeration.
These scopes are from the same family and are identical in almost every way. You can't go wrong with either.

Never a truer word spoken Scott. They are both excellent scopes.

CarboAl, courious about your handle. I worked for over 30 years at a plant here in New Jersey called Carborundum. Anyhoo I love my "light weight" 8se, and understand why you like it so much. Great optics and will take many extras. VB
